"Keyless Lock adds layer of protection"
-Raising Arizona Kids May, 2005
A Gilbert company has designer and patented a keyless lock that
an adult can open but a small child can't. "The main purpose
... is to keep small children and toddlers from getting past a pool
gate and drowning," says its inventor Jeff Pielach, president
of Paragon Machining, which manufactures the U-Loc system.
With U-Loc, there is no need to remember combinations or search
for keys. The lock assembly requires that the lock base be pushed
while squeezing and rotating it, something small children can't
do simultaneously, Pielach says. Still he emphasizes, the device
is not a substitute for adult supervision when children are around
water.
U-Loc also can be used on cabinets doors to keep kids away from
harmful household substances. The product retails for $7.00 plus
shipping and handling (when ordered online) and also is available
at Leslie's Pool stores Valleywide.
PLEASE REMEMBER! THERE IS NO SUBTITUTION FOR ADULT SUPERVISION.
ALWAYS WATCH YOUR CHILDREN ESPECIALLY AROUND WATER!
